New students pay two fees within two weeks of acceptance. The first is a non- refundable $1,500.00 enrollment deposit, which is applied to tuition. The second is a non-refundable $1,500.00 enrollment fee.
Returning students pay a $1,500.00 re-enrollment tuition deposit annually, which is applied to tuition. This non-refundable deposit reserves a student's place for the upcoming school year, subject to the student's satisfactory completion of the current year.
Families may choose between three tuition payment plans: one annual payment, two semester payments, or 10 monthly payments. A finance charge of 12% applies to the semester and monthly payment plans.
Tuition does not include charges for textbooks, Advanced Placement exams, athletic spirit packs, certain field trips, and graduation. These fees and similar charges vary by grade level and will be charged where applicable. Example of charges can be found by clicking here. Tuition Refund insurance is required of all new families on the semester or monthly plans, for two years and is optional thereafter.

Lake Highland Preparatory School strives to provide socioeconomic diversity within our school. We recognize the educational value for all students if the student body is socioeconomically diverse. Our financial aid program was established to enroll highly qualified students who otherwise would not be able to attend Lake Highland due to financial reasons.
Lake Highland offers need-based financial aid to qualified families with student in grades 6-12. Lake Highland does not offer academic or athletic scholarships.
To objectively determine each family’s need for aid, we use Independent School Management’s program, Financial Aid for School Tuition (FAST). FAST provides the school with a detailed analysis including a recommendation of how much a family could reasonable contribute toward tuition. FAST does not determine whether financial assistance will be given or how much to give; FAST does provide a need-based financial aid analysis service. All information form FAST is kept confidential.
In order to receive financial aid, candidates must:
- Have a solid academic record with at least a 2.5 GPA
- Have strong character and integrity
- Be involved in activities outside the classroom

|
| When should I apply for financial aid? |
| Parents should begin the financial aid application process at the same time they submit admission materials. Your cooperation by promptly submitting the FAST application and your 2009 tax return is critical to receiving a decision within the timeline.
The Financial Aid Committee at Lake Highland cannot award financial aid without complete financial data from FAST. Late submission jeopardizes the possibility of an award for your student since requests for aid usually exceed the funds available. |
| Does a request for financial aid affect the admission decision? |
| No, Lake Highland has an aid-blind admission policy. Admission Committee members do not know who is requesting financial aid. |
| How are financial aid awards determined? |
| Financial aid awards at Lake Highland are based strictly on 1) financial need of the family, as demonstrated through the FAST application and a review of the parents’ 2009 1040 tax form and 2) available financial aid funds. The income, expenses, assets, and liabilities of both parents are considered. |
| Only one parent works outside the home. Must both parents be employed to receive financial aid? |
| Generally, yes, if all children in the family are in school. |
| If parents are divorced or separated, do you require both parents to complete the FAST financial aid process? |
| Yes, the income, expenses, assets, and liabilities of both parents are considered. Custodial and non-custodial parents are required to complete the FAST application and submit copies of their 2009 tax returns.
Remarriage of either parent creates a new family unit. On the FAST application, each parent should include information relating to their “new” family, specifically financial information on a new spouse (stepparent).
The Financial Aid Committee at Lake Highland considers both parents’ ability to contribute to tuition, not their willingness. It is the custodial parent’s responsibility to ensure that the FAST application is completed by all parties by March 18, 2010. |
